Privacy policy

Toronto Trading Academy ("we", "us") respects your privacy and treats your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, provincial privacy legislation.

What we collect

When you register or use the academy, we collect:

• Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), province of residence.
• Learning information: courses started, lessons completed, quiz attempts, time on lesson.
• Payment information for unlock purchases (processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number).
• Technical information: IP address, browser type, device class, referring page — used for security and basic analytics.

How we use it

• To deliver the courses and remember your progress.
• To send you account messages and (only if opted in) weekly lesson summaries.
• To investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
• To improve the academy and measure our advertising through aggregated analytics — see Cookies and tracking technologies below for what this involves and how to control it.

We never sell your personal information. We do not share it with data brokers, and we only share the limited event data described below with the advertising and analytics platforms you consent to.

How we store it

Your information is hosted on infrastructure located in Canada and the United States. Payment data is processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Canada, Ltd.) under PCI DSS. Backups are encrypted at rest.

Your rights under PIPEDA

• Access — request a copy of your personal information.
• Correction — ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
• Deletion — close your account and remove your data.
• Complaint — escalate to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the academy to function and is not optional.

With your consent, given through the banner shown on your first visit, we also use the following third-party analytics and advertising technologies: Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and TikTok Pixel. These set third-party cookies and share limited data — such as page views, course sign-ups, and purchase completions — with Google, Microsoft, Meta, and TikTok, so we can measure which marketing brings people to the academy and ensure our courses are not misrepresented to the people we advertise to. They do not load until you accept. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site and refreshing the page.

We never sell your personal information to these or any other third party. The data shared with analytics and ad platforms is limited to the behavioural and purchase events described above — never your name, email, password, or payment details.

Children

The academy is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is designed for Canadians in or approaching retirement. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Updates to this policy

If we change this policy, we will email account holders at least 14 days before the new version takes effect.
